Knitted heart pattern in English
Materials:
Yarn
Worsted weight – 4mm knitting needles
Sport weight – 3.5mm knitting needles
Fingering weight – 2mm knitting needles
A darning needle
A safety pin
Abbreviations:
CO: Cast On
dec: decrease
K: Knit
kfb: knit into the front strand and then the back strand
of the next stitch
k2tog: knit two stitches together
PSO: Pass 1st st over 2nd st to cast it off.
sts: stitches
Pattern:
*CO 3 sts.
Row 1) K3.
Row 2) K1, kfb, kfb.
Row 3) K5.
Row 4) K1, kfb, K1, kfb, K1.
Row 5) K7*, leaving a 6cm / 2inch tail, cut yarn.
Keep these sts on your needle.
Casting on to the other needle tip so that the two halves end up side by side, repeat from *
With both halves on the needle:
Rows 6 – 8) K, joining the two halves of your heart together.
Row 9) (dec row) K1, k2tog, K to last 3 sts, k2tog, K1.
Row 10) K
Repeat the last 2 rows until you only have 4 sts on your needles.
Next row) k2tog, k2tog, PSO.
Leaving a 10cm / 4 inch tail, cut yarn and thread it through the remaining st.
Thread a darning needle onto the tail at the tip of your heart and sew it up the back of your heart to where you’d like to place your safety pin.
Using this tail, sew the part of the safety pin that doesn’t open to your knitted heart.
Weave in all other ends.
And voila! You’re done!
Now you can wear it or give it … up to you! (It is your heart after all!)

Point mousse : à chaque rang, tricoter chaque m. à l’endroit.
augmentation barrée (aug barrée) : tricoter la maille une fois dans le brin avant, puis sans lâcher la maille de l’aiguille, de nouveau dans le brin arrière.

Les astérisques **
Ils indiquent une répétition. La partie de l’explication comprise entre deux astérisques doit être répétée soit le nombre de fois indiqué entre parenthèses après le deuxième astérisque, soit sur toutes les mailles d’un rang.
Ce qui est en dehors (mailles de début ou de fin de rang) n’est réalisé qu’une fois.
Realisation :
*Avec les aig. № 4 et le fil Angorá, monter 3 m.
Tric 1 rg.
Rg 2) 1 m end, 2 aug barrées.
Rg 3) Tric 1 rg.
Rg 4) 1 m end, 1 aug barrée, 1 m end, 1 aug barrée, 1 m end.
Rg 5) Tric 1 rg,* couper le fil.
Garder ces m sur votre aig. Répéter à partir de * en montant les nouvelles m sur la pointe de votre autre aig. Ainsi, les deux moitiés se retrouverons côte à côte.
Avec les deux moitiés sur l’aig :
Rgs 6 à 8) Tric en joignant les deux moitiés de votre cœur. Rg 9) (dim) 1 m end, 2 m ens à l’end, tricoter à l’end jusqu’aux 3 dernières m, 2 m ens à l’end, 1 m end.
Rg 10) Tric 1 rg.
Répéter les 2 derniers rgs jusqu’à ce qu’il n’y a plus que 4 m sur vos aigs.
Prochain rg) 2 m ens, 2 m ens, rabattre les 2 m.
Couper le fil à 10 cm / 4 pouces du coeur et enfilez-le sur votre aig à coudre.
Utiliser ce fil pour coudre le haut de l’épingle à nourrice à l’arrière du cœur.
Rentrer tous les autres fils.
